BlackBerry nears VoIP agreement with UAE telecom Du

BlackBerry is close to completing a deal with United Arab Emirates telecom Du that would give the company an entry to the Persian Gulf nation to provide voice and video services over the Internet with the BlackBerry Z10 smartphone. The companies said Z10 testing is under way and that they expect to launch commercial BlackBerry Messenger service soon. The delivery of VoIP-based services in the Gulf has met resistance from traditional voice providers, however.
