Cisco says profits were up 44% in fiscal Q2

Network-gear-maker Cisco Systems says its net income was up 44% and its revenue increased 5% in its fiscal second quarter. CEO John Chambers said the results illustrate "cautious optimism" by IT buyers. Services revenues increased to $2.66 billion, Chambers said, adding that the figure is near the company's goal of services representing 25% of revenues in each quarter.
