FDA approves clinical testing of stem cell-based myopia treatment

Advanced Cell Technology's clinical partner, the University of California, Los Angeles, obtained FDA approval for a trial to evaluate the safety of subretinal implantation of human embryonic stem cell-derived cells as a therapy for severe myopia. The study could include 12 patients.
