Firebase makes app development "a matter of minutes"

Firebase, which provides developers with a backend in real time, shortening development time to "a matter of minutes," has been released to the public, Christina Farr writes. Co-founder James Tamplin grew the platform out of the chat service, Envolve, realizing that the real-time infrastructure would help his fellow developers. "The end goal of the product is to help developers build amazing experiences they wouldn't have otherwise be able to build -- and even bring novices that just started programming into the fold," he says.
