NextGen is here to stay

Ground infrastructure for the NextGen satellite-based navigation system should be in place this year and fully operational by 2015. FAA Administrator Michael Huerta urged general aviation pilots to prepare their airplanes. "NextGen is a quantum leap from the standpoint of situational awareness. It gives you a much clearer view of everything that's happening in the National Airspace System. It also gives you the equivalent of perfect weather conditions," he said.
