Pa. district may use new elementary-school math program

Elementary-school teachers in the Hampton Township School District in Allison Park, Pa., could be using the "Math in Focus" program in their classes next year if the school board approves the change. Officials say the program will be a big shift in how students learn math, focusing on deeper learning of fewer concepts through hands-on activities.
