U.S. highway network improvement is a priority, says Rep. Shuster:

The improvement of the U.S. interstate highway system is essential to make businesses more globally competitive, said House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Bill Shuster, R-Pa. Funding remains a concern, but "I don't rule anything out. Everything has to be on the table," Shuster said. The country needs roughly $2.75 trillion for infrastructure maintenance and development by 2020, but funding is expected to reach only $1.66 trillion in the same period, according to a study by the American Society of Civil Engineers.
