Zero the Hero makes math come alive for Calif. kindergartners

Every 100th day of the school year, kindergartners in Redondo Beach, Calif., get a visit from a math superhero. The city's mayor, Steve Aspel, dresses as Zero the Hero and visits local elementary schools on his motorcycle to play games related to the number 100. "Many of my students were so excited to meet him that they were not able to sleep the night before," teacher Linda Luna said.
