House panel approves bill barring genetic discrimination

A key House committee approved legislation that would prohibit health insurers from using genetic information to charge higher premiums or deny coverage. The bill, expected to pass the full House and get a Senate vote in two weeks, also would bar use of an individual's gene information in making decisions in other matters, such as employment.
