No conflict between Calif. LCFS, RFS2 on corn ethanol, experts say

There is no contradiction between corn ethanol's passing the federal renewable-fuel standard and failing to meet California's low-carbon fuels standard, said experts and regulators. The Environmental Protection Agency and the California Air Resources Board used "different methodologies," said Stanley Young, a CARB official. The EPA based its decision on projections for 2022, but California looked at current emission levels.
