Sausage recalled amid salmonella concerns

Rhode Island company Daniele International has recalled its ready-to-eat salami and other types of Italian sausage products amid reports that imported black pepper used in production contains salmonella. No deaths are reported, although 225 people in 44 states and Washington, D.C., have become ill and 26% have been hospitalized.
