Virginia teacher has heard every excuse in the book

A Newport News, Va., third-grade teacher has published a book filled with all of the excuses she has heard students use for not turning in their homework during her 30 years in the classroom. The book, "Where is Your Homework?" by Sabrina McMahan, was released in December on and in local bookstores. McMahan writes that some of the excuses are humorous, such as "Time got away" or "I dreamed I did it." However, some of the real excuses can be tragic, such as parents' financial or medical problems.
