Budget offers 2-year delay in Medicare physician pay cuts

A two-year postponement of planned 25% cuts in the Medicare physician payment formula would be paid for by reductions in other health care provider reimbursements and using generic medications on a broader basis, according to a report on President Barack Obama's 2012 budget plans. Physician groups have said they want the Sustainable Growth Rate formula repealed.
