Growth forecasts for U.S. economy improve

The U.S. economy is expected to grow at its fastest pace since 2003 as consumers and businesses increase their spending, according to a Wall Street Journal survey of economists. They forecast gross domestic product will be 3.5% higher in the fourth quarter of 2011 than a year earlier, which is better than the estimate of 3.3% GDP growth made in last month's survey.
