How some Canadian schools use Valentine's Day to teach respect

In some Manitoba, Canada, schools, teachers use Valentine's Day to teach students about respect, friendship and inclusion. Rather than allowing students to exchange cards with people they choose, teachers try to ensure all students receive cards. Teachers select activities in which everyone can participate, and send a list home of students' first names, so parents and children can create cards for everyone.
