Ohio county moves ahead with NG9-1-1 upgrades

Franklin County, Ohio, will implement a $2.3 million Next Generation 9-1-1 upgrade to accommodate text messages and potentially video, according to the county's Office of Homeland Security and Justice Programs. The county will seek a change in state law to allow it to contract with the most suitable wireless service for the program, rather than the area's primary telephone service provider.
