Graham: Candy makers need free-market sugar

U.S. candy companies employ thousands of workers, and many are family-owned operations that have been hit hard in recent years by surging ingredient costs -- including the price-protected domestic sugar made by beet producers, NCA president Larry Graham writes in this op-ed piece. "U.S. candy manufacturers need domestic sugar. They simply believe that the sugar producers should have to compete in a free market like candy makers and any other business," Graham writes.
