As digital and mobile technology gives consumers more ways to shop, trips to the store will increasingly shift from utilitarian buying missions to theatrical experiences, some retail experts say. "A few stores -- Burberry, C. Wonder in New York, Nordstrom -- have experimented with dressing rooms that the customer can actually tailor themselves," says retail architect M.J. Munsell.
