JetBlue balances mobile tech with mobile staff

Jonathan Stephen, who leads mobile efforts for JetBlue Airways, told attendees at the MediaPost Mobile Insider Summit this week that 54% of airlines will have self-boarding, 74% will have self-service bag drops and 73% will use a mobile bar-code check-in during the next two years. Even though flying is tech-intensive nowadays, the carrier still uses agents in airports to answer questions from fliers on how to use the technology.
