"Parent trigger" bill is proposed again in Fla. Legislature

Some lawmakers in Florida say legislation is likely to pass this year that would give parents at struggling schools the ability to petition for changes. Known as the "parent trigger," the bill would allow parents to petition to fire staff members, turn the school into a charter school or even close the school. A similar measure failed to pass last year, but supporters say chances are better this year because of changes in the makeup of the Legislature.
