Switzerland signs FATCA agreement with U.S.

The Treasury Department said last week that Switzerland had signed an agreement with the U.S. obligating Switzerland to direct Swiss financial institutions to comply with various requirements under the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act. These requirements involve tax withholding and reporting certain information to the Internal Revenue Service.
