Packing healthy snacks is an important part of travel preparation and can help keep off unwanted weight gain, registered dietitian Bonnie Taub-Dix writes, noting that she tucks prepackaged vegetables, nuts, cheese and fruits in her travel bag. Walking can be a great way to exercise and see the sights when traveling, Taub-Dix writes, adding that staying hydrated, especially when flying, may help reduce mindless eating.
