Google loses Belgian copyright case

Google Inc. cannot reproduce article extracts from Belgian newspapers, according to a ruling in a suit filed by Copiepresse, manager of copyrights for Belgium's French- and German-language papers. At issue is whether news articles can be viewed on Google after they no longer are available for free from the newspapers. Google said it would appeal the decision.
