Inland American Lodging buys 22-hotel portfolio

Inland American Lodging Corp. has purchased a 22-hotel portfolio from RLJ Urban Lodging Fund for about $900 million. RLJ, based in Bethesda, Md., is owned by Robert L. Johnson, founder of Black Entertainment Television and owner of the NBA's Charlotte Bobcats, and the portfolio consists of a total of 4,061 rooms in urban markets.
