New tax incentives seen as boon to equipment makers

Analysts say equipment manufacturers should get a boost from the economic stimulus plan signed by President George W. Bush on Wednesday. The bill allows for faster depreciation of capital equipment, encouraging farmers, construction companies and other businesses to increase their spending this year. Among the publicly traded companies expected to benefit: Deere & Co., Eaton Corp., Caterpillar Inc. and Agco Corp.
