Florida bill would eliminate tenure for new teachers

Florida legislators plan to introduce legislation that could, after July, eliminate tenure for new teachers and limit teacher contracts to five years, infuriating teachers union leaders. Former Gov. Jeb Bush's education foundation backs the plan, but some education leaders say the debate will scare off potential teachers and is as waste legislators' time when funding is the central issue facing the state's public schools.
