New technology could soon allow hospital workers and others to bypass time-consuming hand-washing by simply placing their hands into a device that uses plasma to zap germs. Plasma technologies have been used in the past decade to sterilize medical instruments, but the latest devices being developed in several laboratories are the first to be used on human tissue.
