Rough-edged white whiskey has a spirited following

Unaged whiskey, known as white whiskey, is becoming popular as small distillers introduce it to showcase their products without the mitigating influence of aging in oak. "Having visited a number of distilleries around the world and tasted spirits fresh off the still, it always perplexed me that nobody sold white dog," said H. Joseph Ehrmann, owner of the Elixir bar.
