Samsung takes on iPad as developers flood apps market

Saying the iPad "will create a new market and new demand," Samsung executives announced plans to launch their own tablet device, a development that puts Samsung in the unique position of being a competitor and supplier to the Apple device, according to the research firm iSuppli. The news comes as statistics show a flood of applications have been issued by third-party developers since Apple disclosed its iPad plans.
