With stimulus funds allocated, local entities compete for high-speed rail

Now that federal high-speed rail funds have been allocated, communities are competing for a share. Northampton, Mass., officials tout the benefits that would occur if high-speed service ran through their town. Meanwhile, a Facebook group dubbed "Bring high-speed rail to Eau Claire" in Wisconsin drew 2,500 entries Friday as residents called for a local stop on a proposed Twin Cities-to-Chicago line.
