Study sheds light on cerebral palsy, preterm birth

Researchers said study results show cerebral palsy, associated with connective tissue inflammation in the umbilical cord, is more common in cases of preterm labor and premature rupturing of the amniotic sac and less common among premature births linked to pre-eclampsia.
