AHA updates heart health guidelines for women

The American Heart Association revised its heart health guidelines for women to account for "real world" variables such as personal and socioeconomic factors and encouraged doctors to discuss barriers to meeting the guidelines with their patients. The guidelines recommend that women adopt a healthy lifestyle, which includes consumption of fruits and vegetables, be physically active and maintain a healthy body weight.
