ANA backs mandate on contraceptive services coverage

The ANA commended President Barack Obama's decision to make women's contraceptive services available to employees of organizations such as hospitals and schools that are affiliated with a religion without requiring the group to pay for that coverage. The mandate "balances women's reproductive health needs with the principle of religious liberty for religiously-run institutions," said Rose Gonzalez, ANA's director of government affairs.
