Fitness, nutrition lessons are part of fundraiser for AHA

An elementary school in Maine recently promoted fitness and nutrition through a fundraiser for the American Heart Association. Students participated in the Jump Rope for Heart event and ate heart-healthy snacks, including carrots, grapes and freshly baked gingerbread. The school's physical-education teacher, Rene Caverly, has been teaching students for about one month leading up to the event about the importance of having a healthy heart.
