Mapping economic optimism by state

Economic confidence is on the rebound, but gains in optimism vary by location, according to the Gallup Organization. Confidence was highest in states including Minnesota and Maryland and lowest in ones including West Virginia and Oregon, the study found. A closer analysis reveals factors such as income, education and class are related to how people perceive economic conditions, writes Richard Florida of the University of Toronto.
