New York looks into $2B loan for Tappan Zee Bridge replacement

The cost of replacing New York's Tappan Zee Bridge could be as much as $6 billion. It's still unclear how the state will pay for it, but the New York State Thruway Authority has applied for a $2 billion federal loan under the Transportation Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act. About 138,000 vehicles a day cross the bridge -- 40% more than the bridge was designed for.
