Assessing the impact of a minimum-wage increase

President Barack Obama has proposed raising the minimum wage to $9 an hour, but multi-unit franchisee Sean Falk says that he would be less likely to open new restaurants if his labor costs were to increase. Falk, a franchisee for brands including Salsarita's, Mrs. Field's, Great American Cookies and Pretzelmaker, recently testified in Washington, D.C. "I came to Capitol Hill today to talk to them about small business and basically how government is getting in our way of growth," he said.
