CBS gets lift in Q4 from political, national ads

CBS Corp. in Q4 raised its net income by 6.2% to $393 million on 2.4% uptick in revenue to $3.7 billion, compared with the same period in 2011. Ad revenue was up 3% to $2.4 billion, due to a combination of political ads at CBS-owned stations and growth in national sponsorships. CBS President and CEO Les Moonves projected the network would again "lead the upfront market in terms of volume and pricing."
