An exploding meteorite hit central Russia on Friday, damaging buildings, shattering glass and leaving more than 800 people injured. Power is still on, but OAO MegaFon, a mobile operator, was experiencing difficulty. "The solar system is a pretty dangerous place to live," John Zarnecki, professor of space science at the U.K.’s Open University. "On the scale of a human life, it might seem quiet, but on the geological scale we’re being peppered all the time. We shouldn’t be too complacent."
