Older patients with recent diagnoses have milder IBD

A study of French patients found those who developed inflammatory bowel disease at older ages had milder cases than those diagnosed at younger ages. Among the older patients with Crohn's disease, abdominal pain, diarrhea and systemic issues were less common, while rectal bleeding and anal fistulas were more common. For ulcerative colitis patients, rectal bleeding and abdominal pain were less common among the older patients.
