Cote d'Ivoire's civil strife threatens children's education

An on-again, off-again civil war in Cote d'Ivoire is jeopardizing the schooling of 700,000 children in the rebel-held north, according to UNICEF estimates. Schools there are struggling to stay open despite teacher flight, the cancellation of exams and the government's decision to freeze funds for schools until the insurgents capitulate.
