About 15 states vie for more NCLB flexibility

With Friday's application deadline only a day away, about 15 states so far have sought permission to use student improvement results in determining progress toward NCLB accountability standards. As announced by the Education Department three months ago, ten states will be chosen this spring to use the more relaxed standard.
