Sprint executive to head telecommunications office

The Obama administration has appointed Anna Gomez, Sprint's former vice president of government affairs, to serve as deputy director for the National Telecommunications and Information Administration. The agency, which oversees telecommunications policy, will also be responsible for spending more than $6.65 billion in stimulus funds targeted at the wireless industry.
