AVMA advises owners to consider cat declawing alternatives

While AVMA and the Humane Society have not officially come out against the idea of declawing to prevent cats from scratching, the groups encourage owners to consider other options before resorting to the procedure. Trimming a cat's nails and using soft claws are some alternatives to declawing, this article says.
