Beverage tax won't solve obesity problem

Though taxes on sweetened beverages are being touted as a way to fight obesity, no scientific evidence links such a tax with weight loss. The causes of obesity are complex, and targeting a single product can actually make the problem worse, as people who save calories by not drinking soda often wipe out the savings by eating more or exercising less.
