Within the past five years, at least five restaurants serving Dongbei cuisine, from China's northeast, have opened in Queens, N.Y. That means people are learning about dishes that were previously ignored or disparaged, such as lamb ribs with cumin and chilies, or carrot-lamb dumplings.
