Research: Autism appears gradually as children reach 1st birthday

Children do not typically exhibit characteristics of autism until at least 6 months, a study shows. Researchers at the M.I.N.D. Institute of the University of California, Davis, said traits associated with autism such as poor social skills and reduced eye contact are likely to appear gradually as children reach the end of their first year.
