Bill would exempt half of Colo. districts from trans-fat ban

Lawmakers in Colorado are seeking to exclude about half of the state's school districts from a proposed ban on serving foods that contain trans fats in school cafeterias and vending machines. The latest version of the bill, which passed a Senate committee Thursday, would exempt school districts with fewer than 1,000 students and school fundraisers.
