Calif. teachers are trained in violence prevention

Elementary-school teachers in a California district recently participated in training with PeaceBuilders -- a program that works to prevent violence. This week's training included learning hands-on ways that teachers could teach students to get along, such as distributing "praise notes" for good behavior and mediation. The training at Rose Avenue Elementary School was funded with a donation by the parents of school alum Justin Wood, a U.S. airman who died in a 1996 terrorist attack in Saudi Arabia.
