FCC rejection leaves satellite-based LightSquared with few options

LightSquared's attempt to build a satellite-based national wireless service suffered a major blow last week when the Federal Communications Commission recommended that the network be scrapped because of interference with GPS signals. The decision stands to benefit DISH, which also wants to build a mobile broadband network but whose system does not suffer from the same technical problems that plagued LightSquared.
